Sacred Heart Cathedral - Teachers Graduation

Corpus graduates enter teaching
writer : JYOTI PRATIBHA

Twenty-six Corpus Christi Teachers College students yesterday graduated with a Diploma in Primary Education and a Certificate in Religious Education.
The graduates are expected to take up postings at various schools by the end of this month.
College principal, Pio Manoa said the College needed Government’s support.
“Government would need to recognise our institution and support it. We are training students to become teachers for tomorrow,” Mr Manoa said.
“The Ministry of Education has been assisting us for many years with its education grant.
“This was $100,000 shortly before and up to 2009.
In 2010 and 2011 this was reduced to $80,000,” Mr Manoa said.
This was the second set of students to have graduated with their diplomas.
The graduation ceremony took place at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva.
